Umbrella homes spent 3 months trying to keep our deposit and slowly reducing the cost “as a gesture of good will” until we finally gave in and despite us leaving the property in a MUCH better state than when we arrived (they tried to charge us £15 per room for dusting even though the house was spotless). One of the bedrooms has a serious mould problem and the boiler leaks (and they kept saying they would fix it but never did) so bills are astronomical. Really nice living space but not worth it for having to deal with Umbrella Homes. One of the rooms is tiny and mouldy.
Avoid Umbrella homes if you can help it! They will try and keep your deposit for no reason. They turn up with house visits all the time without warning and take weeks to respond to email and refuse to talk to you in person (especially if you want to talk about why they’re keep your deposit).
